WARNING ABOUT BIG CANOE SPEED TRAPS AND GATES
Important Notice: Speeding Policy in Big Canoe
The Big Canoe POA actively enforces speeding regulations using speed cameras. Under Georgia law, vehicles traveling 11 mph or more over the speed limit can be ticketed based on speed camera evidence.
If you are caught speeding, a photo of your vehicle and license plate will be sent to the owner of the home where you are staying.
The fine for a speeding ticket is $50 and up, and you will be responsible for covering this cost.
To avoid penalties and ensure everyone's safety, please adhere strictly to the speed limits.
Be especially cautious near speed camera locations, such as the lower level of the dam near the boat docks and beach.
You may not at any time raise the gate by hand or force. If gates do not operate properly or you are at a gate that is not to the public, seek help from the gate attendant. Fine for forcing your way into the community is $500 fine.
Your cooperation in maintaining a safe environment is greatly appreciated.
